Hermes parcel tracking: How it works

With Hermes, you can track your expected shipment using parcel tracking. Shipments are tracked via the company’s website.

Hermes: Use parcel tracking

Hermes parcel tracking allows you to check the current status and location of your parcel online at any time. The system is user-friendly and offers you a high level of transparency throughout the entire shipping process. Parcel tracking process:

• Obtain shipment number: As soon as your parcel is delivered to Hermes, it is assigned a unique shipment number. You will usually find this in the shipping confirmation from the sender or on the delivery receipt.

• Online tracking: Visit the Hermes website or use the MyHermes app. Enter the shipment number in the appropriate field.

• Status query: After entering the number, you can view the current status of your package. The system shows you the most important stages, such as acceptance, sorting at the distribution center, transport, delivery, or any delays.

• Real-time updates: The data is continuously updated so that you always have accurate information about the whereabouts of your shipment. Every movement of the parcel is recorded via barcode scanning or GPS tracking and transferred to the system.

• Notifications: You can also be notified by email or push notification (if you have activated this function) of important status changes, such as imminent delivery.

• Advantages for you: You know where your parcel is at all times and when it is expected to be delivered. Seamless tracking minimizes the risk of loss or confusion. Using the shipment tracking service is easy and does not require registration. All you need is the shipment number.

• Notes: Live tracking with an accurate map view is currently only available to a limited extent with Hermes. In most cases, you will receive a time window for delivery, which is updated regularly. International shipments and returns can also be tracked via the system. To do this, use the respective shipment number or the return label.

Advanced delivery options with Hermes parcel shipping

Hermes offers you various options for flexible parcel delivery tailored to your needs.

• Parcel redirection: You can have your parcel redirected to a different address during the shipping process, for example to a Hermes Box, a ParcelShop, or an alternative delivery address. This option is usually available as soon as you have received the shipment number and the parcel is on its way. The redirection can be requested online in the Hermes customer portal or via the Hermes app.

• Desired location: With the desired location option, you can specify that your parcel is to be left at a specific location on your property, such as in the garage, garden shed, or on the terrace. The delivery driver will leave the parcel at the specified location even if you are not at home. You can specify a preferred location permanently or for individual shipments.

• Delivery authorization: With a delivery authorization, you give Hermes permission to leave parcels at a location specified by you without your signature. This authorization can be given online and revoked at any time. After delivery, you will receive a notification telling you where the parcel has been left.

• Further options: You can specify a specific neighbor as the recipient if you are not available yourself. Your parcel will be left at a nearby parcel shop, where you can pick it up at your convenience. In some regions, you can select a specific day for delivery.

• Notes on use: To use these options, you will usually need the shipment number and, if applicable, a Hermes customer account. Not all options are available for every shipment or in all regions. You can view and manage the available delivery options for your shipment via the Hermes website or app.

Hermes parcel tracking via iPhone/Android app

If you have a smartphone or tablet, you can also track your Hermes shipments via app:

• Hermes has developed its own app for this purpose. Scan the corresponding QR code for Android or for your iPhone or iPad on the Hermes subpage set up for this purpose.

• Keep track of your parcels with the app. In the app, you can view an overview of all your shipments, track shipments, and request a preferred delivery or pick-up service.

• You can also create parcel labels for parcels you want to send within Germany. Once you have entered all the details, a QR code will be generated, which you can show at the parcel shop. The staff there will print the label for you.

• The app also shows you parcel shops in your area. You can synchronize all your shipments across devices so that you can track your parcels or shipments on all your digital devices.

Hermes in the UK

Hermes UK was renamed Evri in March 2022. Hermes can now be found in the UK under the name Evri. In Germany, Hermes continues to operate under its old name.

• The renaming was intended to strategically realign the company and give it a completely new brand identity. The idea was that the new name Evri would offer customers a broader range of services and a stronger market position.

• Customer satisfaction actually rose by a few percentage points and dissatisfaction also fell slightly. Nevertheless, Evri still faces competition from large companies such as Amazon and FedEx.
