Evil mode for Alexa: Amazon’s voice assistant doesn’t always have to be friendly, because she has a few nasty sayings up her sleeve.
How Alexa’s evil mode works
First, the bad news: Unfortunately, Alexa cannot be permanently set to evil mode. It is also not possible for her to respond unkindly to specific requests from the user. However, the “Evil” skill gives Alexa a few nasty sayings and insults up her sleeve, which are mainly intended for entertainment purposes.
- You can easily activate the skill by saying “Alexa, start Villain.” Variations such as “Alexa, open Villain” or “Alexa, ask Villain” also work.
- Alexa will then respond with a nasty remark such as “You have teeth like the stars in the sky – yellow and far apart. Do your parents steal from you? You look so worn out” or “You don’t look good today – same as always.”
- This can be repeated as often as desired, but the lines will repeat themselves after a short time.
Turn off the villain skill
The Villain skill will not remain permanently active on your voice assistant. Alexa will only start the skill when you specifically request it via command, and she will respond to all further requests in her usual friendly manner. If you wish, you can still remove the skill from your list of active skills:
- Open the Villain skill page in your web browser.
- If necessary, log in with your Amazon user account.
- Click on the Disable Skill button. Confirm the query by clicking on the corresponding button again.
