The Toniebox 2 does not yet have an offline mode like its predecessor. However, you can still enjoy audiobooks and music on the go or when your Wi-Fi is turned off. This is easy to do once you have downloaded the content.
Toniebox 2: Info about offline mode
The Toniebox 2 does not currently (as of October 2025) have the offline mode that you are familiar with from the previous box. However, according to the manufacturer, this is currently in development. Nevertheless, you can still easily listen to your content offline with the Toniebox 2:
- Connect your Toniebox 2 to Wi-Fi and place the Tonie on the box.
- Then wait until all content has been downloaded (this happens automatically). The LED on the Toniebox will glow green continuously once the transfer is complete.
- Disconnect the box from the Wi-Fi or take it outside. Then place the downloaded Tonie on the box and start the audiobook or music without an internet connection.
- Notes on storage capacity: Older content may be overwritten during download if storage space is running low. For permanent offline playback, we recommend that you regularly charge your favorite Tonies briefly in online mode so that they remain updated and backed up.
How offline mode worked on the previous Toniebox
It is likely that you will be able to activate offline mode on the Toniebox 2 in the same way as on the previous box. Once the feature has been implemented, of course. Here’s how it works on the Toniebox:
- First, turn on the Toniebox by pressing one of the two ears without a Tonie on the box.
- Once the box has started, press and hold both ears simultaneously for about five seconds. After a few seconds, a signal will sound and the LED light on the Toniebox will start flashing blue. Now release both ears.
- In the next step, press only one of the two ears for another three seconds until the blue flashing changes to a steady white light.
- The Toniebox confirms the new setting with a voice response: “Offline mode is now activated.”
- To exit offline mode, first turn on the Toniebox 2 – again without placing a Tonie figure on it.
- Then press both ears simultaneously until the LED indicator stops flashing white and lights up green. The box will then play a voice message: “Offline mode has been exited.”
- The Toniebox is now ready to connect to known Wi-Fi networks again and can download new Tonies or updated content for Creative Tonies from the cloud.
