If you use a HomeKit product in your own home, you can also control it via your Apple TV. We show you how to establish the connection.
Apple TV: Control HomeKit products
- The HomeKit products communicate with your iPhone or iPad as well as with your Apple TV. Depending on the product, the connection is established via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
- Control via the Apple TV is therefore not only worthwhile when you are outside your own four walls. A Bluetooth connection can be lost in the next room.
- The Apple TV 3 and Apple TV 4 are supported, with the Apple TV merely acting as a middleman. It transmits the commands, but cannot execute them itself. You can therefore not do without the iOS device.
Control HomeKit products with the Apple TV
- Simply log in to the Apple TV and your iOS device with the same Apple ID. This is usually already the case. Otherwise, you can change this in the respective “Settings”.
- If the connection does not work, restart both devices. A new Apple ID login in the settings can also help.
