A tarot deck consists of 78 cards, the meaning of which is derived from the question and the interpretation of the suits, figures, objects and symbols. In addition to the 22 main cards, there are 56 cards that are assigned to the four rows of wands, swords, coins and cups.
The meaning of the tarot cards – Major Arcana
The 22 main cards are also called the trump cards or the major arcana. When interpreting the Tarot cards it is important that they are about you, your question and your view of things. The same cards can therefore make a completely different sense to someone else. The following meanings are therefore to be understood as a suggestion.
- The Magician: This card stands for courage, creativity, a thirst for adventure, a new relationship and a new job.
- The High Priestess: She stands for the inner voice, the soul, intuition and inspiration.
- The Ruler: Love, feelings, fertility and pregnancy are the meanings of this card.
- The Ruler: In contrast to the Ruler, the Ruler stands for the father figure, the masculine, vitality, strength and growing up.
- The Hierophant: This card is also called the Pope, Master or High Priest and expresses the moral, religious and traditional aspects.
- The Lovers: This is about love, longing, partnership and decisions.
- The Chariot: The Victory Chariot expresses success and new beginnings.
- Power: This card stands for vitality, joie de vivre and enjoyment.
- The Hermit: The Hermit can be interpreted as a retreat from everyday life, meditation, divine or cosmic powers.
- Wheel of Fortune: The Wheel of Fortune indicates a new phase in life or a change of perspective.
- Justice: This is about taking stock, making a judgment or decision or accepting an outcome.
- The Hanged Man: The Hanged Man stands for a test (of faith) and a new perspective.
- Death: Death represents the end of a phase of life, a new beginning and a transformation.
- Moderation: Facing transience, reconciliation and the right measure are possible interpretations of this card.
- The devil: The devil is about selfishness, sexuality, addiction, attachment and magic.
- The Tower: This card, also known as Lightning or the House of God, stands for liberation, important events and energy.
- The Star: The Star stands for clarity, transparency, truth and beauty.
- The Moon: The Moon expresses longing, dreams and the state of the soul.
- The sun: The sun means happiness, confidence, light-heartedness, fulfillment and warm-heartedness.
- Judgement: This card stands for revelation, resurrection and breaking away from the past.
- The World: The World symbolizes our spiritual home, inner peace, but also the awareness of boundaries.
- The Fool: The Fool expresses indifference, independence and breaking free from constraints.
Lesser Arcana – Row of Wands
 The 56 cards of the Minor Arcana are divided into four rows: Wands, Cups, Swords and Coins. The row of wands represents the element of fire and generally stands for energy, creativity, power, commitment, identity and success.
- King of Wands: This card stands for strength of will, determination, authority and a leadership personality, but also for the man of your life.
- Queen of Wands: She stands for trust, security and warmth as well as openness and virtue.
- Knight of Wands: He symbolizes energy, commitment and immediate action.
- Jack of Wands: He symbolizes drive, a thirst for adventure and departure;
- As of Wands: This card stands for birth and new beginnings, but also for creativity and energy.
- Two Wands: Contradiction, addition or two possibilities are possible interpretations of the card.
- Three Wands: Breaking new ground and Realizing goals is what this card stands for.
- Four Wands: They stand for creating clarity, being open and expressing your identity.
- Five Wands: This card indicates a challenge or competition that requires a lot of energy.
- Six Wands: They stand for victory, recognition and the harmony of strengths and weaknesses.
- Seven Wands: This card is about overcoming moral standards, envy and discouragement.
- Eight Wands: They express harmony with nature but also a state of suspension.
- Nine Wands: Reducing fears, acknowledging the many possibilities you have and fulfilling your wishes, that’s what this card expresses.

Row of the Cups
In card reading the Row of Cups stands for the element of water. It expresses the unconscious, feelings, moods, meaning and significance as well as joy and sadness.
- King of Cups: He stands for passion and tenderness, but also for maturity and sentimentality.
- Queen of Cups: She symbolizes honesty, wisdom and gentleness.

The Swords series symbolizes the element of air. The cards stand for knowledge and insights, for decisions and assessments, for the spiritual, for freedom and for learning.

The row of coins embodies the element earth. It stands for the body, nature, products and material things, for practical things and for work.
- King of Pentacles: This card embodies a successful businessman, possessions and pleasure, but also jealousy.
- Queen of Pentacles: She also represents prosperity, but also tranquillity, a focus on nature, healing power and fertility.
- Knight of Pentacles: He stands for hard work, diligence and perseverance as well as responsibility.
- Jack of Pentacles: He embodies a gift or an offer.
- As of Pentacles: The card stands for contentment, prosperity and wealth.
- Two of Pentacles: Paying more attention to things and illuminating all aspects of an opportunity is what this card stands for.
- Three Coins: They stand for talents, profession and vocation as well as business.
- Four Coins: Financial security and the need for material security are possible interpretations of this card.
- Five coins: They stand for poverty, hardship and suffering.
- Six Coins: Balance, relaxation and luxury can be interpreted with this card.
