When you use Google Drive, you get a certain amount of storage space free of charge. If you need more, you can add storage space at any time. We have compiled an overview of the costs for you.
Current Google Drive costs at a glance
Every Google Drive user receives 15 GB of free storage space. If you need more, you can purchase various subscription packages.
- Basic: For 100 GB, you pay $1.99 per month.
- Standard: 200 GB costs €2.99 per month.
- Premium: You get 2 TB of cloud storage for €9.99 per month.
- With the Premium plan, you also get 10 percent back as Google Store credit and can use additional Google Workspace Premium features. These include enhanced video calls with Meet, live streaming of Meet calls via YouTube, and improved scheduling in Google Calendar.
- Google AI Pro: This plan also offers 2 TB of storage and costs $24.99 per month.
- With Google AI Pro, you also get access to additional AI features such as the Gemini app with 2.5 Pro and Flow, as well as Whisk with Veo 3. You get 1,000 AI credit points per month and a higher limit for NotebookLM. You can also use Gemini in Google applications such as Docs and Gmail.
- Storage space is shared across all plans for Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail. You should therefore always keep an eye on your storage space.
- You can share your storage space with up to five other people.
- If you sign up for a new subscription, you will receive an additional discount for the first three months.
- Payment is also possible on an annual basis, in which case you can save up to 29 percent per year.
Google Workspace – Cost overview
Under the name Google Workspace, Google offers additional subscriptions with storage space for Google Drive. However, these are primarily aimed at organizations and businesses.
- Starter: For $5.67 per user per month, you get 30 GB.
- Standard: With this plan, you get 2 TB of storage space for $11.34 per month.
- Plus: For €17.71, you get 5 TB of cloud storage.
- Enterprise Plus: This plan comes with 5 TB as standard, but you can upgrade to increase your storage space. Google does not publicly disclose the costs for this plan, so interested parties must contact the sales department.
- All plans can be booked on a monthly or annual basis, with longer contract terms offering savings of up to 16 percent.
- New customers receive a 30 percent discount for the first three months.
- All plans offer additional extras. These include business email addresses, integration of the Gemini AI assistant in Gmail, video conferencing with 100 or more participants, and advanced security and management features.
