In Assassin’s Creed 2, you’ll come across 20 different glyph puzzles. The puzzles are tricky, but essential for uncovering the secret of Subject 16.
Assassin’s Creed 2: Locations of the glyphs for the puzzles
In total, there are 20 glyphs in Assassin’s Creed 2, scattered throughout the game world. Fortunately, you do not need to find them in any particular order, as each glyph automatically unlocks the next puzzle.
- There is a glyph in the Villa Monteriggioni there is one glyph. You’ll find this in the south-western corner of the villa in the third chapter.
- In Tuscany and San Gimignano you can track down five more glyphs. These are located both within the town and outside it.
- In Romagna, however, there are only two glyphs. One can be found right by the lighthouse wall facing the sea, and the other on the roof of the Abbazia Di San Mercuriale in the centre of Romagna.
- Explore Venice thoroughly to discover the seven glyphs hidden there. Places such as the Campanile di San Marco and in the water beneath the Ponte di Rialto are worth checking out.
- There are five more glyphs in Florence. Buildings such as the Ospedale degli Innocenti and the Basilica di San Lorenzo di Firenze will provide you with these important treasures.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 1: In the Beginning
- In this picture puzzle, you must select five paintings in which an apple can be seen. This refers to the core.
- These are pictures 3 ( The Fall of Man), 5 (Hercules in the Garden of the Hesperides), 6 (Atalanta and Hippomenes), 7 (The Judgement of Paris) and 9 (Idun and the Apples).
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 2: 64 Squares
- In this puzzle, you must rearrange three paintings in the correct order. By selecting and rotating the individual circles using your controller or mouse and keyboard, you can arrange the pieces correctly.
- Work your way from the outside in. The larger rings make it easier for you to match the paintings of Napoleon and the other historical figures correctly.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 3: Descendants
- You will be shown three photographs of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Houdini and Mahatma Gandhi. Using an infrared scanner, you must locate the hidden Fragments of Eden in the photographs.
- In the photograph of Roosevelt, you will find the Fragment of Eden on an extended line from his arm.
- In the photograph of Houdini, you will find the Fragment of Eden a short distance below his right hand.
- In the photograph of Gandhi, you will find the Shard of Eden at the level of his elbow.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 4: Infinite Knowledge
- In this picture puzzle, you must pay close attention to the clues provided. In the first photo, select the bazooka on the soldier’s back.
- In the second photo, select the soldier crouching in the background in front of a wall.
- In the third photo, select the bayonets of the soldiers in the front row. In the fourth photo, you must select the light brown monster.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 5: Instruments of Power
- In this puzzle, you must first select the images that show swords. Select images 2, 3, 6, 8 and 9 to proceed to the second part of the puzzle.
- In the second part of the puzzle, you must select the images that depict staffs. Select images 3, 6, 8, 9 and 10.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 6: Brothers
In this glyph puzzle, you must solve four ring puzzles:
- In the first puzzle, turn the first ring ten times to the right. Then turn the second ring three times to the left and the fourth once to the right. This will move the third ring as well. Turn the fifth ring three times to the right. Now all you have to do is turn the last ring into the correct position.
- For the second puzzle, turn the first ring three times to the left, then the third ring once to the left. You must turn the fourth ring four times to the left and then the fifth ring once to the right. You can now turn the last ring into the correct position.
- For the third puzzle, you must turn the first ring three times to the left, the second twice to the right and then the third ring once to the right. Now move the fourth ring seven times to the right and then the fifth once to the right. Finally, turn the second ring three times to the left.
- You solve the fourth and final puzzle by turning the first ring five times to the right and the second four times to the right. Move the third ring one position to the right, whilst turning the fourth ring twice to the right. You must turn the fifth ring twice to the left and the second ring twice to the right . You can now move the first ring to the correct position.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 7: Keep searching
- In this puzzle, you must select five images in which the colour red stands out particularly clearly.
- Select images 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6. In the next image, you must select the Shard of Eden next to Jesus’s right hip.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 8: Martyr
- Here, you must arrange individual image fragments in the correct order to solve the glyph puzzle.
- Select the tip of the staff in the hand of Nicholas II. Next comes the sword of Joan of Arc.
- In the third image, you must move the fireball onto the image of Saint Joan. Next, move the photograph of Rasputin onto that of Nicholas II.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 9: Hat Trick
- In this puzzle, you’ll be presented with both photographs and a code puzzle. First, on the photograph of Houdini, select the right side of his chest.
- On the photograph of Gandhi, select his heart. The final solution to the code puzzle is 312.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 10: Apollo
- This glyph puzzle centres on the moon landing and presents you with two image puzzles and one puzzle. First, select the lunar module in the bottom left-hand corner of the image.
- In the puzzle that follows, you must rotate the fifth ring six times to the left, the second ring four times to the left and the fourth three times to the right . You must now move the third ring five times to the left to then move the first ring into its correct position.
- In the next scene, you’ll find the Apple of Eden you’re looking for at the feet of the astronaut, which plays an important role in the Assassin’s Creed series.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 11: The Inventor
- In the first image, you must touch all the light bulbs with the lightning bolt.
- In the next image, you’ll find a hidden symbol below the tower, between the two windows.
- In the third image, you’ll find the Piece of Eden you’re looking for in Tesla’s lap.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 12: Titans of Industry
- To solve the code puzzle, set the combination to 240. In the second image, you must deactivate the light bulbs marked with the dollar sign.
- In the third screen, select the glowing ball in the centre. To complete the puzzle, you must select the following symbols: two dashes and a dot, three dashes and a dash with two dots.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 13: I have become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds
This puzzle refers to Robert Oppenheimer, the inventor of the atomic bomb.
- Enter the following character sequence: For 5, select the circle and the square above a square; for 2, select the circle; and for 9, select the triangle.
- In the second part of the puzzle, simply press the button. To complete the puzzle, use the Geiger counter to discover a sequence of numbers in the bottom-left corner.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 14: Bloodlines
- In this puzzle, you must select the images in which women are depicted with the gods.
- Select images 1, 4, 6, 7 and 10.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 15: Guardians
This puzzle in the second instalment of Assassin’s Creed is yet another rotating puzzle.
- Turn the third ring twice to the right. This will cause the fourth ring to turn with it. Turn the fifth and first rings four times to the right . Next, you must turn the fourth and first rings five times to the right.
- The fifth and first rings must now be turned five times to the left. Then turn the second ring five times to the left as well.
- Finally, turn the fifth and second rings five times to the right. After that, you simply need to move the Assassin’s logo over the targets to complete the puzzle.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 16: The Cavalry
- Move the Assassin’s emblem onto the word Tunguska on the map. This refers to the Tunguska event, a massive explosion that occurred in Siberia in 1908, leaving behind a visible crater.
- You must then move the staff onto the photo of Tesla to solve the puzzle.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 17: The Bunker
- In this code puzzle, you must match symbols to the numbers. For the 7, select the open square, which has a notch in the centre.
- For the number 9, select the polygon, where two points at the top and two at the bottom point towards the centre. For the number 1, select the diamond, which has a circle in the centre.
- Finally, you must find the Assassin’s emblem in the image. This is located in the top right-hand corner of the bunker.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 18: Synapses
- In this code puzzle, you must select three symbols. Choose the following: three martini glasses side by side, seven glasses in three rows, and three angles with an additional glass.
- In the next part of the puzzle, you must move the cursor over the neurotransmitter so that they start to glow.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 19: The Fourth Day
- In this picture puzzle, you must look for images of the sun. You will find the suns in pictures 2, 3, 5, 8 and 9.
- In an image of the sun that appears next, you must now locate a smaller image of the Earth. This is hidden in the lower-left corner, as viewed from the centre.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyph Puzzle 20: The Origin of Species
- Rotate the fifth circle ten times to the right, whilst rotating the fourth twice to the left.
- The first ring is linked to the third. Rotate the third ring twice to the right.
- Next, rotate the second circle five times to the right and the first three times to the left. An image will then appear in which you must select the eye at the top.
- In the following coding puzzle, you can enter any combination to proceed. On the final screen, you must move the cursor over the skeleton to assemble the bones correctly.
- You have now solved all the glyph puzzles. You will then learn important information about Subject 16 from the video The Truth.
