If your Samsung Galaxy Tab won’t charge anymore, there could be several reasons for this. We’ll show you what the problem is and how to fix it.
Samsung Galaxy Tab won’t charge: The charging adapter is often to blame
When the battery is completely discharged, the original Samsung adapter sometimes no longer charges. In this case, try an alternative power supply, although Samsung recommends using authorized chargers.
- On some models, the charging adapter supplied by Samsung is the cause of the problem. The Galaxy Tab will not charge when the battery is completely discharged.
- The charging adapters are designed to start charging only when power is supplied from the battery. If the battery is completely empty, the charging adapter does not recognize the device and does not charge it.
- Simply use a different power adapter. Numerous users report that it works perfectly with an iPhone power adapter, for example.
- With newer Galaxy Tab models, incompatible or damaged power adapters and cables are often the cause of charging problems. Unauthorized chargers or cables in particular often lead to errors.
Samsung Galaxy Tab won’t charge – this could also be the cause
Software problems or settings such as the fast charging option can prevent charging. Restarting the device or disabling this option sometimes helps.
- Dust: Dust accumulates in many charging sockets over time. If the dust blocks the contacts, charging is not possible. This is actually the most common cause. It is best to remove the dust with a toothbrush, not with metal objects. Alternatively, blow into the socket vigorously.
- Connection: If the cable has been plugged in incorrectly or the tablet has become damp, the connection may be defective. In this case, repair is unavoidable.
- Battery: If the device has not been used for a long time, it may be deeply discharged. In this case, it will take a while for the tablet to respond. The battery may also be defective.
- Cable: Try charging your Galaxy Tab with a different cable. Non-original cables wear out quickly.
- If the problem persists, a software update, factory reset, or hardware test via the Samsung Members app may help. If there is a defect, have the connection checked by support and the battery checked by a specialist company.
