You can easily activate and deactivate the childproof lock on a NEFF stove. This protects children from unauthorized use.
How to unlock the childproof lock on a NEFF cooker
To prevent accidents in the kitchen with hot hobs or the oven, many NEFF appliances have a child safety lock installed. This can be easily unlocked again if it has previously been switched on. The childproof lock may differ depending on the Neff model.
- On your Ceramic hob with touch function, you will find the childproof lock in the form of a key or bell symbol. To lock, press and hold this symbol for ten seconds. To unlock, press your finger on the key or bell for about four seconds.
- Some models combine a rotary control and display. In this case, it may be necessary to additionally hold a button while turning the knob.
- An oven with an integrated oven can also be locked. This is done using the clock symbol in the display panel.
If the clock is pressed for some time, a key appears in the display and the oven activates the childproof lock; - As soon as you press and hold the clock symbol again, the key disappears from the display and your NEFF oven is unlocked again.
- In the case of an oven with a function selector – i.e. the rotary switch with which you can switch between convection and top/bottom heat, for example – this must be in the zero position so that you can deactivate the childproof lock.
Frequent problems and solutions with the childproof lock
Problems with the childproof lock can also occur with NEFF ovens:
- Oven cannot be unlocked: Check whether the button has been pressed long enough. On touch models, moisture on the display can interfere with the input.
- symbol flashes or remains lit: A brief power cut, for example disconnecting the stove from the mains, often helps.
- Inadvertent locking: Sometimes the childproof lock is activated by accidental touching. To avoid this, clean the display after each use and do not leave any objects on the buttons.
