DirectX 12 download – how it works

With Windows 10, you no longer need to update DirectX manually. The graphics interface is now an integral part of Windows. As soon as a new version of DirectX is available, it is automatically installed via Windows Update. This means that it is no longer possible to update DirectX manually. If you are still using an older version of Windows, such as Windows XP, 7, or 8, you can continue to update DirectX manually.

1. Open the following link to download the DirectX Web Installer.
2. Right-click on the “Download” button to start the download.
3. Now start the downloaded installation file. First, accept the terms and conditions and click “Next.”
4. Uncheck the box next to “Install Bing Bar” and click “Next.”
5. The installer will now search for updates for your version of DirectX. If an update is found, click on the “Next” button; otherwise, you can exit the program.
6. The download and installation of DirectX will then start. You do not need to do anything else. At the end of the process, you will be notified that the installation was successful.

DirectX: What is it actually?

If you want to install a game on your computer, you will usually need DirectX software. In addition to Windows, Microsoft also uses this tool for its Xbox game console.
