Export events and birthdays from Facebook

Facebook allows you to export individual or all upcoming events and birthdays of your contacts to Apple iCal, Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar. Alternatively, you can transfer the birthdays or events to the Facebook calendar or have an event sent to you as a calendar entry via email.

Facebook: Export all events and birthdays

  • First log in to Facebook with your access data.
  • On the home page, use the menu on the left and the “Events” option to access your personal events and the birthdays of your contacts.
  • Now left-click on the Zanhrad icon in the top right corner to access the events menu and select “Export”.
  • First, an English-German information text appears (see illustration) with two links.
  • If you want to export your friends’ birthdays, click on the link “your friends’ birthdays”. However, if you want to export all upcoming events, activate the link “upcoming events”.
  • Another window will now appear with all the applications to which you export the events and birthdays. Select a suitable programme and confirm your selection with “OK” to finally transfer the information.

Facebook: Export selected event

If you want, you can also export events individually on Facebook. Here you can have the event sent to you by email or transfer it directly to the calendar.

  • Log in to your Facebook account for this as well.
  • On the home page, click on “Events” in the menu on the left and find the event you want.
  • Under the event photo you will find the buttons “Invite”, “Edit” and “…”. Left-click on the “…” button to open a menu.
  • Select the “Export event” from the menu to open a window with export options.
  • In a final step, select whether you want to transfer the event directly to the calendar or have it sent to a desired email as a calendar entry.
  • Once you have made your selection, click on the blue “Export” button to transfer the desired event.
