Do you find the same look on WhatsApp boring and would like to change the font color? In this article, we explain what is possible and what isn’t.
Change WhatsApp font color – here’s how
First, the bad news: You can’t change the font color in WhatsApp chats. However, you do have the option to customize the chat design. This allows you to change the color of the speech bubbles.
- To do this, open WhatsApp and go to Settings.
- Click on the “Chats” option and then on “Chat design.”
- Here you can choose from a range of ready-made templates or customize the chat color and background.
- Important: There are a number of third-party apps available in popular app stores that allow you to change the font color quickly and easily. However, using these apps may result in your account being suspended.
Changing colors in WhatsApp: How it works
If you want to change the color of the view in WhatsApp, there is another option. You can reverse the colors via your smartphone’s device settings.
- iOS: Go to Settings and select the “Accessibility” option. Under “Display & Text Size,” you can invert the colors. To do this, select either “Invert Smart” or “Invert Classic.” The background will then turn black and the text will appear in white.
- Android: Tap Settings, then go to “Accessibility” and then “Visual accessibility.” Here you can now select the option “Negative colors” or “Invert colors.”
WhatsApp: Change font color for status messages
The font color can only be changed for status messages in WhatsApp.
- To do this, go to “Status.” Tap the green plus sign.
- Select an image that you want to set as your status.
- Tap the pencil icon in the top right corner and write text on the photo in the selected color.
Format text in WhatsApp
If you want to write text in bold, italics, strikethrough, or typewriter font, you can do so in WhatsApp.
- Bold: To make the text bold, place an asterisk before the word you want to bold. You must also place an asterisk after the word. For example: *Thursday*
- Italic: To italicize text, place an underscore before and after the word. For example: _Thursday_
- Strike through: To strike through text, use a tilde. For example: ~Thursday~
- Typewriter: To type in typewriter style, place three single quotation marks before and after the text. For example: “`Thursday“`
