Civilization 7: New features at a glance
Critics criticized Civilization 6 for its rather dull start to the game. Civilization 7 aims to set itself apart with new mechanics.
- The new Age system allows you to play as a new civilization during the Ancient, Exploration, and Modern Ages. The leader remains the same. This system brings new tactical possibilities and adapts to you individually.
- There are now urban and rural fields that affect production and combat. In combination with the new communities you establish alongside your capital, you can effectively build an empire.
- The revamped empire management system no longer uses crafts. Instead, you can use population growth to carry out repairs and upgrades. This reduces micromanagement in the game.
- Another notable feature is the emergent narrative system. Throughout the game, you will receive story messages with decisions that will affect your empire. This mechanic is reminiscent of titles such as Crusader Kings III.
- Note: Crossplay is also supported by Civilization 7. This allows you to play with a large number of players.
