“Preserving the Old Traditions” in Diablo 4 is a side quest that requires you to perform a specific emote.
Diablo 4 “Preserving the Old Traditions”: Complete the emote side quest
If you have accepted the Diablo 4 side quest “Preserving the Old Traditions,” a specific emote is the solution.
- You will find the side quest at an offering in the Dry Steppes. Simply travel northeast from the Jirandai Waypoint until you reach the Untamed Slopes and find a book there.
- Interact with the book. You will then receive the clue to solve the quest: “Marked by time, you remain, and before your colorful clan, I say: Yes, I will preserve our traditions!”
- You must perform the Yes emote to complete the side quest. Then follow the quest until you reach a statue in a rock wall, where you will present the emote.
- Now you must add the emote to your quick access via the emote menu. To do this, press [E] on the keyboard or [D-pad up] if you are using a controller.
- Use the mouse wheel or the [L1/R1] (Playstation) and LB/RB (Xbox) buttons to switch to the emote menu. Within the Emote menu, you can assign the Yes emote using the Customize option. To do this, press [Triangle] (PS) or [Y] (Xbox) on the controller.
- Then exit the menu and perform the Yes emote in front of the statue. The quest is now almost complete.
- Finally, all you have to do is open the treasure chest that spawns next to the statue. The quest in Diablo 4 is now complete.
Diablo 4 “Preserving the Old Traditions”: Rewards for the Emote Quest
Once you have completed the quest “Preserving the Old Traditions” in Diablo 4, you can look forward to the following rewards:
- You will receive experience points and gold depending on your level. Ideally, you should complete the quest early enough to receive a sufficiently high reward.
- The chest also contains loot that you will receive immediately after completing the quest. This consists of two elixirs.
- In addition, you can look forward to gaining 20 reputation in the region. This will make you more popular in the Dry Steppes.
- Note: In rare cases, the quest marker may not disappear after completing the task. If this happens, save your game and reload it in the fourth part of Diablo to fix the bug.
