Spider webs in Minecraft slow down players and enemies. You can use them to slow down other players or keep mobs at a distance. Learn how to craft a spider web in this practical tip.
Crafting a Spider Web in Minecraft
You can’t craft a spider web using the crafting table in Minecraft. Instead, you’ll need to mine the item yourself:
- First, craft a pair of shears. To do this, place two iron ingots diagonally across from each other on the crafting table (see photo).
- Next, craft an enchanting table and place it in the world.
- Here, enchant your shears with “Caution.”
- If you mine the spider web with these scissors, it will end up entirely in your inventory.
Minecraft: What Spider Webs Can Do
With the right strategy, you can use spider webs to escape your enemies or lure other players into a trap:
- The webs slow down both players and mobs by 85 percent. Additionally, your teammates cannot jump while they are trapped in the web.
- But the webs can be useful for you, too: They stop your fall—no matter how long your character has been falling. This allows you to descend from great heights without taking damage.
