Vampire Survivors: The Best Tips & Tricks

by Pramith

Vampire Survivors is a popular roguelike that has been offered on various platforms since 2021. With our tips, you can successfully play through the game

These are the tips you should follow when playing Vampire Survivors

Even if you are a newcomer to Vampire Survivors, the following tricks might help you:

  • The point of Vampire Survivors is to survive as long as possible, and for that you have to kill enemies. To do this, you have to move a lot and quickly. This is how you level up and receive improvements that will take you further later on. With each level, however, the enemies also become stronger. Therefore: Always keep moving and kill as many enemies as possible, even the smaller ones.
  • Concentrate on a few weapons at the beginning of the runs if possible. Don’t keep choosing new weapons, but improve your existing ones.
  • Also look for different characters. These are located in the game. You can find them actively in coffins or get them passively when you upgrade a weapon, for example. Look for the character that suits you best. To do this, you should try out all the characters once.
  • Spend gold coins on suitable power-ups. At the beginning, you should increase your status values “Power” and “Armour” to have more attack and defence. However, avoid the power-up “Curse”, as it increases the number and life of enemies and thus makes the game more difficult at the beginning.
  • You can also save all your coins to get the power-up with the golden ring “Quantity”. This ring increases the number of all bullets by one, which can be a great help, especially in the beginning.
  • Improve the power-up “Greed” as early as possible, which increases the coin yield by 10 per level. The more coins you spend here, the more you can earn back in passes for other power-ups.
  • Find the right combination of character, weapon and power-ups as you progress through the game. It is of little use to combine the melee weapon “Whip” or the barrier “Garlic” with “Doubler”, as this increases the projectiles. A good combination is for example “King’s Bible” and “Garlic”. The barrier becomes almost impenetrable in higher levels. The power-up “Magnet” can also help here, as experience crystals will fly to you from a long distance.
  • In the levels there are always destructible objects and blue-rimmed enemies. The objects contain helpful things like healing. The blue enemies are stronger, but also bring lots of experience and treasures.

What to look for in Vampire Survivors in general

The roguelike thrives on the fact that you don’t just play through it, win and be done.

  • It takes a lot of patience to get better and get stronger weapons and power-ups.
  • Also, the game is more about steadily getting better than getting a real ending.
  • Therefore, don’t be frustrated if you don’t understand everything right away. Find out your personal playing style.
