If your Toniebox 2 suddenly stops charging, it’s usually due to a common problem. In most cases, a few specific checks will quickly get your music box working again.
Toniebox 2 not charging: Common reasons for charging problems
If the Toniebox 2 is not charging, there could be various reasons for this – from simple contact problems to more serious defects. Below, you will find out what the typical sources of error are and how you can get your audiobook box up and running again.
- One of the most common causes is that the box is not connected correctly to the charging cable.
- A defective or broken charging cable can also prevent the Toniebox from charging. If the cable is kinked or damaged in any way, power can no longer flow to the box.
- Sometimes the contacts on the Toniebox charging cable are dirty. Dust, dirt, or other deposits on the metal surfaces prevent reliable power transmission.
- Another common problem is that the Toniebox has not been used for a long time. In this case, the battery may be deeply discharged. In such cases, it may take some time for the box to respond and for the device to recognize that it is charging.
- Last but not least, a defective battery is also a possible cause. If the battery is damaged or has reached the end of its service life, the Toniebox 2 will no longer charge despite all attempts.
Charging problems with the new Toniebox: step-by-step guide to troubleshooting
To specifically solve the charging problem with the Toniebox 2, a structured approach is recommended.
- Check that the Toniebox is correctly and fully connected to the USB charging cable and that a signal sounds if necessary.
- Inspect the charging cable for visible damage or kinks. Replace it if you suspect any damage and only use original accessories.
- Clean the contacts on both the box and the cable carefully with a microfiber cloth. Stubborn dirt can be removed with a contact spray.
- If the box has not been used for a long time or the red light is permanently lit, let it charge for at least three hours. In the case of deep discharge, the battery often needs several charging cycles to work again.
- If the charging problem persists, we recommend restarting the device: Disconnect the Toniebox from the power source and press and hold both ears of the box for 30 seconds. Release the ears after switching off and the music box will restart.
- If this does not work, the last step is to reset the Toniebox to its factory settings. Please note that this will delete all downloaded content.
- Important: If the problem is not caused by the charging station, the cable, or the contacts, there is probably a defect in the battery or the hardware. In this case, you should contact Tonies customer service while the warranty is still valid. If the warranty has already expired, the battery can usually be replaced by a specialist.
