WhatsApp: How to search for a date in the chat.

On WhatsApp, only iPhone users can search for a specific date in the chat so far. For Android, this function is not yet available.

How to search for a specific date on WhatsApp

The WhatsApp search only works on specific keywords. However, if you want to look up what you wrote with someone on a specific date, it doesn’t work as easily. Currently, only iPhone users can filter by date – there is no such option for Android (as of April 2023). And this is how it works:

• Open WhatsApp on your iPhone and go to the chat where you want to search for a date.

• Select the name of the chat partner or group with one tap.

• There you will see a small magnifying glass and the term Search. Tap on it.

• Now a calendar icon appears in the chat, select it.

• A date display will open, where you can select the date you are looking for a message.

• Confirm the action with “Jump to date” and you will be taken to the chat history on that day.
