Kahoot App: How to Create Your Own Quiz

With the latest Kahoot app or on the website, you can design interactive quizzes even more easily and flexibly. Here’s how:

  1. Create a free account on kahoot.com or in the mobile app (available for iOS and Android).
  2. In the web version, click “Create” in the top-right corner, or tap the plus icon in the app. Select “New Kahoot.”
  3. Now you can type in your questions and answers. For each question, you need at least two and at most four answer choices, which you can specify. Also select which answer is correct. Next, set a time limit and specify whether points should be awarded for this question.
  4. Click “Add question” to add more questions. For each question, add a title, the answer options, and the correct answers. Set the time limit and point values individually. You can also customize the design. When creating a quiz, select “Use a template” and customize it. Add your own cover image and a description.
  5. When you’re finished, click “Done” in the top-right corner so your quiz can be finalized and published. You can also set up Kahoots privately for your class (Kahoot Teacher’s Guide) or for a private setting. Now you can give your quiz a title and a description.
  6. Now click “Continue.” You can now test the quiz, play it, or share it with others. Using QR codes for sharing is very convenient.

Get More Out of Kahoot – Make Smart Use of Advanced Features

Kahoot offers numerous options for making your quiz sessions more varied, structured, and efficient. Here’s an overview of the most important features and tips:

    • Combine Kahoots: Group multiple quizzes into a series to create longer or thematically linked quiz sessions. This allows you to seamlessly connect different topics and ensure a consistent learning experience.
    • Create courses: Bundle different Kahoots and learning modules into a course. To do this, click “Create” and select the “Course” option. Add as many Kahoots, documents (e.g., PDFs), videos (YouTube/Vimeo), or multimedia articles as you like. You can customize course details, the target audience, and the design through the settings. Optionally, you can award completion certificates to your participants.
    • Use quiz templates: Save time with ready-made templates on various topics, or import questions from existing Kahoots or spreadsheets. This allows you to quickly and efficiently create and customize new quizzes.
