How to create a WhatsApp channel

For some time now, WhatsApp has offered the function of so-called channels. You can subscribe to these channels according to your interests. This function offers many advantages, especially for companies. But it can also be interesting for private users to have their own channel. This is how you proceed:

• Open the WhatsApp application or open WhatsApp on your PC. If you have a business for which you want to create a channel, open the WhatsApp Business app.

• Then click on “News” or “Channels” in the app. There, click on the plus symbol on the right to select “Create channel”

• Now personalize your channel. Enter a name, description and profile picture

• Finally, select “Create channel” and your channel is online.

This is what you should keep in mind

WhatsApp channels are a relatively new feature on WhatsApp. The dedicated channel for private users, for example, was only added later.

• However, this also means that the channels do not always work perfectly and errors can still occur.

• You should always make sure that WhatsApp has downloaded all updates and that you have the latest version.

• In addition to your own channel, you can also find other channels. To do this, you can enter filters or search queries under “Channels” and “Discover more”.

• Whether you own a channel or follow a channel, your phone number will always remain invisible to others.

• In addition, when you create a channel, you can specify whether it should be public and appear in the directory.

• One way or another, channel histories are only saved for up to 30 days.
