You can also connect your PS5 controller to a mobile phone. Then you can control many mobile games with it. The connection is very simple. Especially with an iPhone, however, you have to pay attention to a few important points.
Connecting thePS5 controller with an Android mobile phone
If you have a PS5 controller, the possibilities are not limited to using it on a Playstation 5. You can also use the device when playing games on your smartphone. If you have a mobile phone with Android, you can connect the controller to your mobile phone as follows:
- To do this, connect the controller to your smartphone via Bluetooth.
- On your PS5 controller, press the Create button (small button on the top left with the three vertical lines) and the PS button (small button with the Playstation symbol, in the centre) simultaneously. Hold both until the light strips light up.
- In your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings, then search for available devices and select “Wireless Controller”. Pair your phone and the controller.
- You can also connect the controller to your smartphone using a USB cable.
- But be aware that not all mobile games support a PS5 controller. So it’s best to try out which games it works with.
- If you want to use the controller again on a Playstation 5 after gaming, you will need to reconnect it to the console via a USB cable.
Can a PS5 controller be used on the iPhone?
You can basically connect a PS5 controller to an iPhone. However, this is not possible with every iOS version.
- If you want to use a PS5 controller on an Apple device, you need at least iOS 14.5.
- First, make sure that the controller is turned off. You can switch it off by pressing and holding the PS button for a few seconds.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone.
- Then press the Create button on the PS5 controller until it flashes blue.
- The controller will then appear among the available devices in your iPhone’s Bluetooth settings (DualSense Wireless Controller). Touch it to connect it to your iPhone.
