If Firefox won’t start, there can be several reasons for this, but most can usually be resolved quickly. We’ll give you some useful tips and solutions.
Firefox won’t start: Quickly fix the problem
- If Firefox won’t start, this can usually be fixed: Open the Task Manager with [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc] and end all processes named “Firefox”.
- Then restart Firefox as usual. If necessary, you may also need to right-click the program and select “Run as administrator”.
- If you still cannot start Firefox, the quickest solution is a clean reinstallation. You can save your bookmarks so they are available again in the “new” Firefox.
- If Firefox still doesn’t work after a fresh installation, you can temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software to prevent Firefox from being blocked there.
