Forward WhatsApp video status: This is how you proceed

by Mike

If you want to forward your own WhatsApp video status, you can do so in just a few steps. It gets more complicated with videos in other people’s statuses

Forwarding your own WhatsApp video status: How it works

If you have posted a video in your WhatsApp status that you would now like to forward, proceed as follows:

  • Open WhatsApp and go to the News tab (at the bottom):
  • You can now see your status here. Tap on your profile picture to display the status messages.
  • If you have several status messages online, wait briefly until the desired video appears.
  • Tap on the three dots and Forward next to the status message.
  • You will be shown an overview of your contacts. Scroll to the person to whom you want to forward the status.
  • Touch the name and confirm with the green arrow to forward your video status.

Forward videos from other contacts

If one of your WhatsApp contacts has uploaded an interesting video in their status that you want to forward, it will unfortunately be a little more complicated. This is because WhatsApp does not yet offer the option of downloading the status.

  • Install the Status Saver for Android or iPhone. These apps allow you to download videos from a contact’s WhatsApp status and save them on your smartphone.
  • Alternatively, you can start a screen recording with your smartphone, call up the video on WhatsApp and then trim the clip so that only the content of the WhatsApp video is visible and not your steps around it.
  • Once you have saved the desired video on your device, you can then call it up in your gallery and send it to your contacts on WhatsApp or via other apps using the share icon and thus forward it.
