If you use the text-based AI ChatGPT, the question quickly arises as to whether a subscription to ChatGPT Plus is worth it. The answer to this depends on several factors.
- For many users, ChatGPT Plus is worthwhile simply because ChatGPT 4.0 can only be used with a subscription. In the free version without a subscription, there is only access to ChatGPT 3.5.
- A major difference between ChatGPT 3.5 and ChatGPT 4.0 is that the new model delivers better results in many areas. GPT 4’s responses are more accurate, correct and meet higher standards overall.
- Another feature that is only usable with a subscription, or should be usable soon, is the insertion of images in ChatGPT. The new function has already been announced on the OpenAI page, but is currently not available to almost any user. However, it will only be available for GPT 4.0 and thus make a subscription necessary.
- With a ChatGPT Plus subscription, in addition to access to GPT 4, users will also get priority access to new features, faster response times and will be able to use GPT even with high usage volumes.
- The GPT Plus subscription also guarantees features such as plugins and improved data analytics.
- Whether a ChatGPT Plus subscription is worth it, however, is not only a question of features, but also a question of money: currently (as of September 2023), the subscription costs $20 per month.
- Conclusion: Whether ChatGPT Plus is worth it is up to each user to decide. With the access to GPT 4.0 there are additional functions and features, but essential improvements such as the picture function are currently hardly available to any user.
