You can conveniently close your Deutsche Bank account online, by mail, or by fax. Depending on the type of account, you may need to observe certain notice periods.
Closing a Deutsche Bank account—what you need to know
You can close a checking account with Deutsche Bank at any time without notice.
- Before you can close your account, it must be balanced.
- If you are in the red, balance the account. Please also note any outstanding payments.
- If you have a credit balance in your account, transfer the money to another account or indicate in your letter of termination where the remaining balance should be transferred to.
- If you want to close a savings account with Deutsche Bank, this is an account with a fixed contract term. In this case, a notice period of three months to the end of the contract term usually applies.
How to close your account with Deutsche Bank
To close your Deutsche Bank account, simply use the cancellation form from “Aboalarm”.
- Open the cancellation form in your browser.
- Enter your address and account number in the appropriate fields.
- Sign the form by typing your name at the end of the letter.
- You can send the cancellation form directly via Aboalarm in a legally compliant manner. A fee of €4.99 will then be charged.
- Alternatively, download the form and print it out. Send the printed cancellation by mail—preferably by registered mail—to Deutsche Bank AG, Customer Service, 04024 Leipzig.
