Dominoes instructions: Distributing the tiles
Depending on how many players are playing dominoes, a different number of tiles are distributed. Any remaining tiles are set aside.
- If two players are playing together, each player receives seven tiles.
- If there are three players, each player also receives seven domino tiles.
- If four players are playing together, each player receives only six tiles.
Dominoes: How to play
In dominoes, players take turns placing a tile next to another. The numbers on the tiles must always match on the adjacent sides. By placing a tile next to another, you create new paths. You can then continue to place tiles along these paths.
- At the beginning of the game, a tile is drawn at random and placed face up in the middle. The players now take turns trying to place their tiles. If a player cannot place a tile on their turn, they must draw tiles from the stock until they draw a matching tile. This tile is then placed.
- On each turn, the player must place a tile. Passing is not allowed.
- The dominoes must always be placed directly next to another domino. It is not allowed to simply place the tiles anywhere on the playing field.
- Only tiles with the same number of dots as the adjacent tile can be placed.
- The player who places all their tiles first wins. This player receives 5 bonus points.
- At the end of the game, players who still have dominoes in their hand receive penalty points. The dots on the tiles are counted as minus points.
- Dominoes is played over several rounds. The player with the fewest minus points at the end wins.
