  • André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu was born on October 1, 1949 in Maastricht, the Netherlands. He discovered his passion for music as a child. His father was chief conductor of the Limburgs Symfonie Orkest LSO, in which André Rieu himself was a violinist until 1989.
