From an iPhone to a Mac, photos can be easily imported using the Photos app.
- The program launches automatically as soon as you connect your phone via USB and displays all the photos stored on the iOS device. All you have to do is click “Import.”
- Transferring photos to a Windows computer is also no problem. When you connect your iPhone via USB, it will appear as a new drive in Windows Explorer. Click on this drive—which you can recognize by the fact that it bears the name of your iPhone—and navigate to the “DCIM” folder. The photos are located there and can be copied to your computer via drag-and-drop.

- You can transfer photos wirelessly from your iPhone to any computer using iCloud. On Windows computers, you’ll need the iCloud Control Panel and your Apple ID. All you have to do is set up your iCloud. The images will then be automatically copied to the PC.
- Wireless transfer also works with the free iPhone app “Wi-Fi Photo Transfer.” If you enter the displayed IP address into a browser, you can not only view the images but also transfer individual photos or entire albums to your PC as a ZIP archive.
