Setting multiple home pages in Mozilla Firefox: Instructions

The Mozilla project allows you to set multiple home pages for the Firefox browser. This causes all entered to load simultaneously.

  1. Click the button for the Application Menu in the top-right corner with your mouse; it is marked by three horizontal lines. Select the Settings option.
  2. On the left, switch to the category Home Page and navigate to the option Home Page and New Windows. There you will find your currently set home page, most likely Firefox Home Page (Default). Click on the button.
  3. Here, select Custom addresses… and enter all the addresses you want to see at startup. Separate multiple websites with a vertical bar.
  4. To create the vertical bar (|) on Windows and Linux, use the keyboard shortcut [Alt Gr]+[<]. On macOS, this can be done using [alt]+[7].
  5. Alternatively, open the desired pages and click the Use Current Pages button. This will automatically set all currently open web pages as your start pages.
  6. The change is immediately saved by the browser. The next time you launch the browser, all entered pages will open directly.

Setting multiple homepages in Mozilla Firefox isn’t working: Troubleshooting

If the homepage options aren’t saved in Firefox, there are several solutions available.

    • Restart Firefox and try again. Sometimes the browser can freeze, preventing you from successfully saving the options.
    • Sometimes there may be a software error . Use the built-in troubleshooter to reset the Firefox browser.
    • Clearing the Firefox cache may also help. The outdated or corrupted files may prevent the browser from applying the settings.
    • In rarer cases, add-ons or antivirus programs may prevent settings from being applied. Disable all extensions that affect the home pages or startup settings and try again. Temporarily disable your antivirus software to make the changes.
    • If the changed home page options still don’t work, completely reinstall Firefox. The clean reinstallation fixes numerous errors.
