Twitter account blocked – what to do?

If your Twitter account is blocked, this can have several reasons. Either you have violated the guidelines or Twitter is blocking your account as a security measure. We show you what to do about it.

Twitter account suspended – your options

You can recognise a blocking by the fact that a warning message appears when you try to log in. You must then distinguish between the following cases:

– If your account is only blocked due to verification, it is usually sufficient to re-enter your mobile phone number or verify your email account. In both cases, a code will be sent to you, which you must then enter on Twitter. If this query is successful, Twitter will immediately unblock your account.

– It gets a bit more complicated if you violate the Twitter guidelines. The only thing that helps here is an appeal. For these cases, Twitter provides a special form.

– Before you open the objection form, you must log in with the blocked Twitter account. Describe your problem there and provide the requested information. Once you have submitted the ticket, you can only hope that Twitter accepts your request.

– If you have only committed a minor offence, you have a good chance of having the ban lifted. For serious offences, your only option is often to re-register with Twitter.
