- Synchronisation: Servers, channels and settings remain identical to the desktop app – switch seamlessly between devices.

- Privacy: The browser version offers access to privacy tools such as ad blockers and anti-tracking extensions. These features are not available in the desktop app.

To realise its full potential, pay attention to details that even experienced users often overlook:
- Optimising Push-to-Talk: Enable the feature under User Settings > Voice & Video, but please note: it only works when the browser window is active. Alternatively, use voice activation with a customised threshold.
- Join a server directly: Avoid detours – use invitation links in the format discord.gg/xxxxx directly in the browser address bar.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Control Discord efficiently with shortcuts such as Ctrl + / for a list of commands or Alt + arrow keys to switch channels. Ctrl + K is extremely useful for quickly searching for channels, servers or direct messages.
- Filter notifications: Under User settings > Notifications, customise which @mentions you receive on a per-server basis – ideal for large communities.
