iOS 17: How to set up standby mode

First open the settings of your iOS device.

  • Scroll to the “StandBy” item. Activate the “StandBy” item
  • Since standby mode is intended to use your smartphone as an analog clock and alarm clock, connect the device to the charger so that the clock remains active throughout the night. Turn the iPhone to landscape mode
  • Once this is done, press the side button on your iPhone. To switch between the widgets, swipe your fingers to the left or right.

Depending on the standby mode settings of your iPhone, the display of the screen can be varied.

  • If you go to the standby mode settings, you have the option of activating night mode. In this case, the widgets adapt to the ambient light. In this case, the colors are less distracting when it is dark in the room
  • If you want to see incoming messages, activate them in the settings. You will also be shown a preview of the message
  • If you only want the preview to be displayed when you tap on the message, activate the button next to “Show preview only when tapping”.
