Connecting Sennheiser headphones with Bluetooth: This is how it works

by Johannes

You can connect Sennheiser headphones to a Bluetooth device in just a few steps. This applies to both over-ear and in-ear headphones from Sennheiser.

Pair Sennheiser over-ear headphones with Bluetooth via the NFC function

In a headphone test by Stiftung Warentest, Sennheiser headphones came out on top. One of the manufacturer’s wireless models is the Momentum 4 Wireless, which have Bluetooth 5.0. When connecting, it depends on whether the Bluetooth device is equipped with NFC function or not.

  • If the Bluetooth device has the NFC function, you can pair the headphones with it. To do this, activate the NFC function on the device and switch on the headphones.
  • Put on the headphones and hold the Bluetooth device close to the right earcup. The distance must not be more than three centimetres. You should now hear the voice message “Pairing” in the headphones. At the same time, the LED indicator flashes red and blue.
  • To establish a connection, answer the confirmation prompt on the display of the Bluetooth source with “Yes”. Pairing is confirmed by the voice messages “Pairing successfull” and “Device connected” and by the LED lighting up blue for two seconds.

Pairing Sennheiser over-ear headphones without NFC function with Bluetooth

If your headphone model does not have the NFC version, proceed as follows:

  • To pair a non-NFC device with the headphones via Bluetooth, turn on the headphones and hold them no more than 20 centimetres away from the Bluetooth device.
  • Press the voice assistance button on the headphones for five seconds until you hear the voice message “Pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue to put the headphones in pairing mode.
  • Now activate the Bluetooth function on your device and select the Sennheiser headphones from the list of Bluetooth devices displayed. If a confirmation code is requested, enter “0000”.
  • In the headphones you will again receive two voice messages for confirmation after successful pairing.

Make a Bluetooth connection for Sennheiser In-Ear headphones

In addition to on-ear headphones, Sennheiser also offers in-ear headphones like the Momentum True Wireless.

  • In order to establish a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone, you must register both headphones once in the device settings of your smartphone.
  • For pairing, insert both headphones and touch the touch control surface on the right and left headphones at the same time until you hear a beep and the voice message “Pairing”.
  • On your audio source, activate the Bluetooth function and search for Bluetooth devices. The source must not be more than 50 centimetres away from the headphones.
  • Select the Sennheiser headphones from the Bluetooth devices found in the vicinity. If a PIN is requested, enter “0000”.
  • When pairing is successful, you will hear the voice messages: “Pairing successfull”, and the LED will also flash blue three times.
