If your printer is running slowly, this problem can be sorted out in just a few simple steps. The cause may be blocked nozzles or an out-of-date driver. You can find suggested solutions to these issues here in our practical tip.
Printer printing slowly – how to fix the problem
With our tips below, your printer should be back to working properly in no time.
- There may be dust or dirt inside the printer. If this is the case, remove it carefully but thoroughly.
- To ensure the printer prints correctly, you’ll need the latest driver. You can easily download and install this from the manufacturer’s website.
- Some printers experience problems if you do not use original cartridges. These can block the nozzles and consequently slow down the printer. You should therefore only use the manufacturer’s original cartridges.
- Try unplugging the printer from the mains for about 10 seconds. This often resolves problems as well.
- You can also try uninstalling the printer via ‘Control Panel’ > ‘Devices and Printers’ and then reinstalling it.
- In some cases, there may also be an error in the printer software. You should therefore reset the printer.
- With most printers, you can do this directly on the device via the settings. You’ll find further information on this in the manual.
