If error 0x80080005 occurs, it is often due to installed virus protection programmes.
- Therefore, stop and disable these programmes before installing Windows updates. It is also recommended to deactivate the Windows Defender during the installation.
- After you have deactivated these programmes, restart the computer and try the Windows update again.
- But programmes such as cleaning tools like CCleaner can also be responsible for the problem. Therefore, you should also deactivate or uninstall these programmes.
