If you want to enter the degree symbol on an iPhone, you’ll have to search for it. We’ll tell you where to find the symbol.
iPhone / iPad: Entering the degree symbol using the keyboard
You mainly need the degree symbol for temperature readings. On the iPhone, you can enter it using the keyboard, but the symbol is not visible at first glance. With the standard keyboard and many third-party keyboards, proceed as follows:
- Open the numbers and special characters using the “.?123” button on the iPhone keyboard.
- Then tap and hold the zero.
- A small pop-up will appear with the degree symbol you are looking for. Swipe up to enter the ° symbol.
Writing the degree symbol on a Mac
If you work with a Mac, there is also a way to insert the degree symbol here.
- You can simply copy the symbol from any website and paste it into your document: °
- Or you can use a keyboard shortcut: Press the Shift key and the degree symbol on your keyboard (to the left of the 1).
