If you have an American Express® Platinum Card, you can take advantage of annual travel credit from Amex. This gives you a discount on your vacation.
Save money when booking your vacation with Amex travel credit
With the American Express Platinum Card, you can pay easily and securely. But the credit card has even more advantages for you as a cardholder—including travel credit.
- All primary cardholders of the American Express Platinum Card receive a travel credit of €200 once a year.
- You will receive this bonus on the anniversary of the date you joined Amex. As soon as you apply for a new card, pay the annual fee, and receive your Platinum Card, you can use the travel credit.
- When planning your next vacation, it makes sense to book directly through the American Express online portal to save money on flights, accommodation, or rental cars.
- The credit can be used for amounts starting at a minimum value of 200 euros. In addition, you can use your Membership Reward points to pay for your trip.
- Good to know: If you have not used up your €200 travel credit within one year, it will expire and cannot be carried over to the new membership year.
How to use your Amex travel credit
To save $200 when booking a hotel, vacation home, rental car, or flight, simply redeem your travel credit online. Here’s how:
- The booking must be made via the American Express portal. Visit the provider’s website and log in to your account to view your available travel credit. You will find the value right next to your personal data. Please note that it may take 5-6 days for the credit to appear.
- Start your search for a flight, vehicle, or accommodation. Once you have entered your criteria, a list of offers will appear. Decide on an option and proceed to the payment process.
- As soon as you click on “Book now,” you will have the option to redeem your travel credit. Here you can also use your bonus points and decide whether you want to pay any outstanding balances directly with your Platinum Card.
- Confirm your booking.
- Tip: If your travel credit is not displayed even though you have not yet used it in the current membership year and your booking amount exceeds 200 euros, please contact the Platinum Card Travel Service at 069/97973030 and select option 2.
