How to Activate Gemini: Here’s How
Google’s Gemini is set to replace Assistant on Android devices. This AI tool is versatile and can be activated on your smartphone or tablet in just a few steps.
- First, download the “Google Gemini” app to your Android mobile device and open it.
- You’ll then see an overview and explanation of the app’s features. Scroll down and click “Next.”
- On the next page, you’ll learn what activities Gemini stores, for how long, and how your data is used. Click the “Use Gemini” button.
- To replace Google Assistant with Gemini, click the button in the top-right corner to access your profile.
- Click “Switch to Google Assistant” and then select Gemini as your digital assistant. From now on, Google Assistant will be replaced by Gemini.
How to Use Gemini as Your Assistant
- Open the Gemini app and enter your commands as text or by voice.
- If you’ve set up Google as your default assistant app, you can also give a command by saying “Hey Google.” Gemini will then open automatically.
- You can also show Gemini photos and ask questions about them. This allows Gemini to take on the role of Google Lens, for example.
- Other features, such as Google Maps and Google Flights, are also integrated into Gemini. If you ask a relevant question, Gemini can direct you to the appropriate app.
