Disable the Webcam in Device Manager

1. Click “Start” or the “Windows icon” and type “Device Manager” into the search box. Click on the entry.
2. In the “Device Manager” window, look for the “Imaging Devices” entry. Click on it.
3. Your webcam will appear below this entry. If you’re using multiple imaging devices, make sure to identify which one is your webcam. Right-click on your webcam’s entry and then click “Disable.”
4. In the pop-up window that appears, confirm the deactivation by clicking “Yes.”
5. If you want to reactivate your webcam, click ‘Enable’ in the third option.
