Wii faults are a nuisance; a black-and-white picture significantly spoils the gaming experience. However, it isn’t necessarily the console that’s at fault – the screen could also be to blame. So first check whether other channels have the same problem.

• If this isn’t the case, you should start by checking the usual suspects. To do this, check that all cables are properly connected and that the settings are correct.
• It may be that the connection cable does not support certain settings, for example, if the Wii is running at 60 Hz. You can fix this by making a change in the menu. To do so, adjust the settings in the console’s settings menu.
