Profile and group pictures of WhatsApp contacts and chats can now only be partially saved on your smartphone with a little trick.

WhatsApp offers the possibility to save group pictures directly on your device:

To do this, open a group chat and click on the name of the group:

- In the detail window you now have to click on the group picture to enlarge it.
- Select the share icon at the top right in the large view.
- In the pop-up window, the option “Save to Gallery” appears at the top. Perform this action.
- You will then find the saved group pictures in your gallery in the “WhatsApp Profile Photos” folder or under your most recently saved pictures.

Save profile pictures of contacts on WhatsApp – is it possible?
WhatsApp has unfortunately abolished the original feature where saving profile pictures of other contacts was possible in the new versions. To get the profile pictures of a contact, there is therefore no way around a screenshot:
