Baldur’s Gate 3: Find and open the Gilded Chest

There are many treasures in Baldur’s Gate 3, including the Gilded Chest, which you can find in the Owlbear Cave.

  • The cave in question can be found north-east of the Destroyed Village at coordinates X: 82, Y: 450. To get there, cross the bridge and cross the river. Then enter the cave and keep to the left, as dangerous owl bears await you on the right.
  • In the left tunnel you will quickly find the Gilded Chest ofSelûne. Do not try to open the chest just like that or by sheer force. It has a divine seal that causes a lot of damage if you try to open it.
  • The only way to open the chest is behind the statue of the Moon Maiden. To do this, jump over the small chasm behind the chest.
  • After you cross the chasm, you must pass an automatic perception check. If this is successful, you will find a note on the ground. If not, simply jump back and try again until you pass the check
  • The note is the Selûnite Prayer Note. Stand in front of the chest, open your inventory and read it. The chest will then open automatically and you can loot the treasure.
