Defeat Balteus in Armored Core 6: Tips on combat and builds

by Corinna

Balteus in Armored Core 6 is one of the first and most difficult bosses in FromSoftware’s mecha game. Prepare yourself for a tough fight

Defeating Balteus in Armored Core 6: How to fight the boss

Armored Core 6 doesn’t make it easy, especially for new players with Balteus. The enemy is equipped with a variety of weapon systems that can quickly push you into a corner.

  • To survive against Balteus in Armored Core 6, you must therefore dodge, strike and repeat these steps in classic Soulslike fashion. Balteus demands a lot from you and cockiness is quickly followed by a knockout
  • Balteus has a lot of firepower and often attacks with a barrage of missiles, which primarily come from three different directions. Depending on the level of the battle, Balteus shoots these in the form of a bullet. Here you have to dodge via jumps or your booster and immediately catch up to get into close combat.
  • After the missile attacks, Balteus takes a short break, which you can use to attack with your submachine guns and plasma blade. If Balteus attacks you with his flamethrower, dodge it and attack the free arm. This will allow you to drain even more HP from the lump
  • If Balteus starts spinning like a top, get out of the melee immediately and run away. In this state, he is invulnerable and deals high damage.
  • There are a number of other variations that you simply have to avoid. For example, Balteus ignites part of the floor and you must quickly dodge upwards and hover until it is safe again.
  • Important: Take your time with the boss. You can only defeat Balteus by slowly reducing its life energy.

Defeat Balteus in Armored Core 6: Use Build

In the fight against Balterus in Armored Core 6, a certain build is recommended to make it easier, especially for beginners.

  • Use mobility and high speed to dodge Balteus’ attacks and then attack him. The NACHTREIHER components are ideal for this purpose
  • Use the basic NACHTREIHER mecha (body, arms, legs and head) and equip it with either the BST-G2/P04 or BST-G2/P06SPD boosters. They provide plenty of thrust without restricting maneuverability
  • As far as the generator is concerned, you have quite a lot of leeway. If you can’t decide, the VP-20S is a good choice. It is designed for lighter mechs and only increases the weight slightly
  • Of course, the weapons of the build should not be missing. Go for a fast machine gun like the MG-014 LUDLOW for both arms. Although it doesn’t cause much damage, you need to take your time for Balteus and a high rate of fire is therefore recommended.
  • Furthermore, you should use a pulse blade and a plasma rocket launcher to equip the shoulders with these. HI-32: BU-TT/A and the Vvc-70VPM, for example, are suitable for this purpose
