To find a bastion in Minecraft, you need to go exploring in the Nether. The structures offer a lot of loot.
How to find a bastion in Minecraft
Bastions or Bastion Ruins, along with Nether Fortresses, are large complexes in Minecraft that invite exploration and looting.
- To find a bastion ruin, you must first reach the Nether. To do this, you must first build a Nether Portal that will transport you from the overworld to the Nether.
- Bastions spawn in almost all biomes within the Nether. The only exception is the basalt deltas. It is also possible for the ruins to be completely enclosed by Netherrack blocks, allowing for a random find.
- As long as you are not in the basalt delta, recognisable by the numerous basalt blocks and lots of volcanic activity, the chance of finding a bastion is quite high. Look especially for larger structures made of blackstone, as bastion ruins are made of these.
- In addition, enemies such as Piglins, Hoglins and Piglin Barbarians stay in close proximity as they are generated along with the Bastion. They differ from Netherfortresses in the building material used. Nether Fortresses are primarily made of Nether Bricks.
