AI and AI: What’s the difference?

by Corinna

You often come across the abbreviations AI and KI. But what is the difference, or is there perhaps no difference at all?

What is the difference between AI and KI?

AI and AI are abbreviations that occur in the same technical subject area.

  • KI means “artificial intelligence” in full.
  • AI, on the other hand, stands for the English term “artificial intelligence”. If you translate the English term into German, you also get “artificial intelligence”.
  • The terms AI and AI thus have the same meaning and can be used as synonyms for each other.
  • They describe a field in computer science. Here machines and programmes are designed so that they can, for example, solve tasks and react to influences in the same way as humans.
  • An example of an AI or an AI is ChatGPT. The programme can write, translate and analyse texts, for example.
