While it is possible to export Opera bookmarks and transfer them to another computer, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Opera: How to export Speed Dial
Unfortunately, there is no direct export function for Speed Dial in Opera. However, since it is part of the browser’s bookmarks, you can export the Speed Dial entries along with the bookmarks:
- Open Opera and go to the Bookmarks Manager. The quickest way to do this is to press the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [B] .
- Click on Import/Export below the bookmarks on the left, and then on Export Bookmarks.
- Specify a save location and file name. Opera saves the bookmarks including Speed Dials as an HTML file. Your Speed Dial entries are listed in the “Speed Dials” section of this file.
Opera: Import Speed Dial
Restoring your custom Speed Dial using the export file is possible afterward, but somewhat cumbersome: You must manually move the links to the desired locations before you can use them again as usual.
- In Opera, press the keys [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [B] to open the Bookmarks Manager.
- Click the button at the bottom left Import/Export and then Import Bookmarks.
- In the dropdown list, select Bookmarks HTML File. Then click the Choose File button and open the HTML file containing your bookmarks and speed dials.
- Opera will now transfer all entries from the file to a separate folder in the bookmarks bar.
You can find the Speed Dial links under Imported > Speed Dials.
- From there, you can easily move your bookmarks to the Speed Dial folder using drag and drop .
- Tip: If you hover your mouse pointer over a bookmark, you can check the box in the upper-left corner. If you do this with multiple bookmarks, you can move them all at once.
