If you use Tinder, you’ve probably noticed the purple lightning bolt in the app. The icon is located below the pictures of your potential matches.
Purple lightning on Tinder: That’s what it means
The Purple Flash makes your profile appear more frequently to others and can help you get more matches.
- When you tap the purple flash, you have the option to buy a boost. This will make your profile the top profile in your area for 30 minutes and thus show it to more people. This way you will be seen by more potential matches.
- If you’ve already purchased a Tinder Boost, you can activate it by tapping the purple lightning bolt at the bottom right of the screen.
- The price of Tinder Boosts is based on the age and quantity of Boosts you wish to purchase. The exact price varies, but is usually between four and seven euros each. If you buy five or ten Boosts at once, you get a bulk discount.
- If you use Tinder Gold, you can get your profile “boosted” once a week for free.
- If a match is found while the boost is active, you’ll see the purple lightning bolt here too.
