AirPods Pro – These new features you should know about

With the second generation AirPods Pro, Apple brings some new features. These concern areas such as the control or the phone. But the charging case has also been redesigned compared to its predecessors.

AirPods Pro (2nd generation): New features

From 23 September 2022, the new second generation AirPods Pro will be available. These come with some new features you should know about.

• New chip: With the H2 chip, Apple promises improved noise cancellation, extended battery life and better three-dimensional sound.
• Microphone: The inward-facing microphone is now designed to recognise your voice better. It is supposed to sound more natural when you are on the phone.
• Touch control: You can adjust the volume by swiping down or up. With a press, you can answer or end calls or pause and restart music. When you press and hold the touch field, you switch between noise cancellation and adaptive transparency. The latter is designed to reduce loud ambient noise so you can understand your surroundings.
• Three-dimensional audio for groups FaceTime: Dynamic Head Tracking is designed to make group calls with FaceTime sound as if everyone is in the same room as you.
• Adaptive EQ: Adaptive EQ takes into account the fit of the AirPods Pro. This is to adjust the frequencies of your music accordingly.
• Personalised 3D Audio: Using the iPhone’s True-Depth camera, a customised profile is determined based on the shape of your head. This is said to improve the sound. This is stored on all Apple devices that have the latest operating system. Some of the updates will come after the release of the AirPods Pro.
• Silicone Tips: The AirPods Pro (2nd generation) come with four pairs of silicone tips. These are the attachments that ensure a proper fit in the ear.
• Revised case: The charging case includes the new U1 chip that allows “Where is?” with accurate search. It also has the option of attaching a loop. In addition, the battery life has been extended compared to its predecessor. The case is now IPX4 protected against water, just like the AirPods Pro. With the help of a speaker, you can find the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) case more easily.
