If you use Apple Maps as your navigation system, you should also switch on the traffic information. This way you will always know if there is a traffic jam or road works on your route.
Enable congestion and traffic info in Apple Maps
The Traffic option shows you how fast you are moving on a road on Apple Maps. Depending on the extent of the congestion, roads are coloured orange to red.
- Open the “Maps” app on your iPhone or iPad and tap the information icon at the top right of the screen.
- If you select the “Traffic” option here, all the information will be displayed on the map.
- Red and orange marked roads are currently heavily to moderately congested.
- In addition, small symbols show you road closures, road works and danger zones.
