iPhone 14: What the camera of the smartphone can do

by Mike

On 7 September, the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max were released and of course fans and interested parties are once again curious about the cameras and innovations.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus camera

The camera on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus has two lenses on the back as usual.

  • The first lens has 12 megapixels with 26 millimetres and a ƒ/1.5 aperture. It also has optical image stabilisation and 7 blades.
  • The second lens is an ultra-wide angle with 13 millimetres and a ƒ/2.4 aperture.
  • True-tone flash, HDR 4, Deep Fusion and Deep Blur are all part of the package, as they were in previous models, along with red-eye correction, lens correction, image stabilisation, night mode and effects.
  • In addition, panoramas with up to 63 megapixels can be taken, pictures can be geotagged and continuous pictures can be created. In addition, as usual, there is portrait mode, portrait light with different modes, night mode, live photos, continuous shooting and photographic styles.
  • Images can be saved as HEIF or JPEG.
  • For video, 4K and 1080P recording is possible at up to 60 frames per second. HDR, Cinema Mode, Time Lapse, Night Mode and Action Mode can be selected here to suit requirements.
  • The cameras offer 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom for stills and 3x digital zoom for videos.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max camera

The three camera lenses of the top iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models differ in terms of resolution and the fact that there is one more lens. Other than that, there are a few more features to justify the jump between the models.

  • The main camera has 48 megapixels at 24 mm focal length and a ƒ/1.78 aperture.
  • The ultra-wide-angle lens appears to be identical in construction to the other models, but you’ll look in vain for the 12-megapixel dual telephoto at 48 millimetres focal length and ƒ/1.78 aperture, or triple telephoto at 77 millimetres focal length and ƒ/2.8 aperture.
  • Macro photos and macro videos are also possible with the telephoto.
